Watermain, Sewer and Underground Utilities
RAM Excavating installs and replaces the underground infrastructure that municipalities, developers, mines and industrial operators depend on. Deep sanitary trunks, watermain, storm systems, service connections and dry utility duct banks, built to municipal and ministry specification across British Columbia and Alberta since 1986.
Deep trench, poor ground and high water
A great deal of our underground work happens below the water table, in running sand, or under existing services that cannot be taken out of commission. We plan shoring, dewatering and bedding as engineered scope rather than field improvisation. Trench boxes and speed shore are sized to the cut, wellpoint and sump dewatering are set up before the machine opens the ground, and nobody enters an unprotected trench on a RAM site.
Materials, jointing and testing
Our crews install PVC, HDPE, ductile iron, concrete and steel, and we fuse HDPE on site with our own equipment. Every system is pressure tested, flushed, disinfected, camera inspected and documented to the owner engineer requirements before it is turned over. Tie-ins to live mains are planned with the utility owner, staged for the shortest practical outage, and communicated to affected residents and businesses before the shutdown.

Working in occupied streets
Municipal utility work happens in front of somebody home. We plan traffic management, pedestrian routing and resident access ahead of the first cut, keep driveways and businesses reachable, and maintain water and sewer service to properties throughout construction. It is a large part of why municipalities across the Cariboo and northern British Columbia bring us back.
