RAM Excavating Limited is a heavy civil construction contractor based in Quesnel, British Columbia, with a history dating back to 1986. We specialize in construction management and self-perform a range of excavation services, including site servicing, earthworks, underground utilities, road building, bridge civil works, land clearing, grading, and demolition for mines, forest-products operations, municipalities, provincial ministries, health authorities, and general contractors across British Columbia and Alberta.

Mines, municipalities, provincial ministries, forest-products operations and general contractors return to us project after project because our commitments on site hold. Our professional team of project managers, superintendents and operators brings decades of combined field experience to every job, and because we directly employ our crews and own our equipment, we maintain full control over schedule and quality rather than relying on subcontractors.

Where We Work

Our head office and yard in Quesnel, BC, along with a second yard in Grande Cache, Alberta, serve as the hub for our construction management operations. We provide excavation services and heavy civil construction expertise as we mobilize to remote mine and forestry sites, live industrial operations, and occupied municipal streets — the three primary environments where most of our work occurs.

Service area: Quesnel, Prince George, Williams Lake and the Cariboo; northern British Columbia; Grande Cache and northern Alberta — with mobilization across western Canada for the right project.

Our Own Iron

Excavators, scrapers, rock trucks, and support equipment owned and maintained by RAM are operated by skilled teams who have been with us for years. By owning our fleet, we ensure that our construction management processes remain on schedule, even when a rental yard cannot provide the necessary resources for our excavation services in heavy civil construction.

In the realm of heavy civil construction within an occupied downtown area, effective construction management is essential. This includes traffic management, utility locates, staged excavation services, and full reinstatement, all sequenced to accommodate other trades and ensure that local businesses remain operational throughout the process.

Working In The Bush

Mine and forestry sites are often hours away from the nearest supply house. Effective construction management ensures that mobilization, fuel, parts, and crew logistics are meticulously planned before the first machine rolls out, especially with excavation services in remote locations where there’s no second chance on a heavy civil construction start.
