Excavation and Earthworks
Bulk excavation, mass grading, site preparation and land clearing for mine, industrial, municipal and highway projects. RAM Excavating owns and operates the scrapers, excavators, dozers, articulated trucks and grade control needed to move large volumes on schedule, in the terrain and weather that western Canada actually presents.

Volume, and the equipment to move it
Scraper fleets, excavators, dozers, articulated rock trucks, packers and graders working together let us take on cut and fill balances that smaller contractors have to subcontract out. Because the iron is ours, mobilisation is fast, production is predictable, and a schedule change does not turn into a negotiation with a third party.
Building on ground that does not cooperate
Much of the Cariboo, northern British Columbia and northern Alberta is muskeg, saturated silt or fractured rock. We build subgrades that hold up under loaded traffic through freeze and thaw: geotextile separation, geogrid reinforcement, structural fill in controlled lifts, compaction testing, and drainage designed before the surfacing goes down rather than after the first failure.

Earthworks scopes we self-perform
- Bulk excavation, mass grading and cut and fill balancing
- Land clearing, grubbing and topsoil stripping and stockpiling
- Structural fill placement, compaction and density testing
- Geotextile and geogrid subgrade reinforcement
- Rock excavation, ripping, and drilling and blasting coordination
- Laser and GPS machine grade control
- Site drainage, ditching, culverts and erosion and sediment control
- Building pads, laydown yards, log yards and equipment storage areas
Where we do this work
Across British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, with offices in Quesnel and Grande Cache. Remote mine, forestry and energy sites are routine work for us, including camp based projects far from the nearest town.
